Twenty-six people are facing numerous charges after nine search warrants were executed earlier this week.
The OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Community Street Crime Units of Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth began an investigation in May, after an increase in overdose occurrences in the counties of Grey, Bruce, Huron and Perth.
On Wednesday, members from multiple units across several regions executed nine search warrants.
Throughout the course of this investigation, police seized approximately 160 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, 60 grams of suspected cocaine, 6 grams of suspected carfentanyl, more than 80 morphine pills and over 140 hydromorphone pills. Police recovered a variety of stolen property valued at more than $36,000 and more than $6,000 in cash. Two firearms were also seized.
The approximate street value of the drugs is $25,600.
The 26 accused have been charged with 111 combined offences.
Six of the those charged are from Owen Sound, five are from Listowel, four from Goderich, four from Wingham, with one each from Mitchell and Meaford. Ages of those charged ranged from 21 to 66-years-old.
Eight of the accused were held in custody upon arrest and the remaining 18 were released on conditions.
They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound, Walkerton, Goderich and Stratford on various dates in October.
