Fire At Waste Management Facility Monday: No One Hurt

MOUNT FOREST – Nobody was injured after a fire at the Mount Forest Waste Management facility on Monday afternoon. 
Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 5:00 pm on Monday and found heavy smoke coming fro the building. Several pieces of garbage, household waste, furniture, plastic and mattresses were burning in the blaze. 
Fire crews from Mount Forest, Arthur, Minto Aerial, West Grey Aerial and Air/Light Command unit from Inter Township responded. 44 firefighters and OPP officers were at the scene and they did manage to get the flames under control and eventually extinguished. 
The fired did cause an estimated $100,000 in damage to the waste station. No danger to the environment and all of the run off was contained. Fire crews cleared the area around 2:00 am on Tuesday morning.
