One Man Airlifted To Hospital After Damascus Fire

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH – Dedicated crews from the Mount Forest and Arthur stations of the Wellington North Fire Service, along with firefighters from Grand Valley were on the scene of a fire on Line 6 near Damascus around 3:40 p.m. yesterday afternoon.
Officials say the shop on Line 6 east where the fire broke out is used as a propane storage facility and was completely destroyed by multiple propane tank explosions.  
A male employee in his 50’s was air lifted to a trauma centre and is considered to be in stable condition despite receiving third degree burns to over 30% of his body.
The fire was contained and extinguished by Wellington North Fire Service.  
The blaze is still under investigation.
