DURHAM – The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook advisory for the region.
The recent rash of wet weather has caused deterioration of surface ice on the Saugeen River through the Town of Durham. Ice jamming and localized flooding are possible in the reaches below the lower dam near the baseball diamonds.
Water levels across the watershed are moderating, however, Environment Canada is forecasting warmer temperatures, snow melt and rainfall for Thursday. It is anticipated that this will result in rising water levels again.
Flows are expected to remain elevated into the weekend, however, major flooding is not anticipated.
