DURHAM – West Grey Police conducted a traffic stop on Kincardine Street early morning on January 9th 2019 after discovering a driver who was not wearing a seatbelt.
During the interrogation, police noticed the driver was attempting to hide several items from sight, and later discovered to have several warrants from other police services.
The driver was arrested, and after further investigation, police uncovered copious amounts of drugs, drug-related paraphernalia, and a hidden weapon on the driver’s person.
Among the substances confiscated by police included Hydromorphone, hash oil, syringes, and around 1.5 kilograms of cannabis.
As a result, police arrested a 39-year old man from Walkerton and charged with Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, Possession of Cannabis Readily Available in a Vehicle, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
The accused man was held for a bail hearing, and later released from the court on recognizance.
WEST GREY – On Thursday, January 10th, West Grey Police arrested a 55-year old man as a result of a sexual assault investigation.
The victim reported multiple incidents which had occurred over a two-year period.
The man was charged with Sexual Interference, Unwanted Sexual Touching, and Sexual Assault on a Person under the Age of 16.
West Grey Police arrested a suspect after investigating a lost bank card.
The suspect had found the card, and then proceeded to make several purchases on it. The suspect’s girlfriend contacted the owner and informed them of the situation. The victim subsequently contacted police with this information, who were able to locate and arrest the thief.
The 31-year old man of no fixed address has been charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. He was released on a promise to appear with a court date later next month.
