Fire Marshall Called In To Investigate $100,000 Apartment Fire In Mount Forest

An apartment fire in Mount Forest sent one to hospital with second degree burns to his hands and forearm. Wellington North Fire Services were called to the building at 235 Egremont Street North at 5:47 this (Thursday) morning. They quickly called in crews in from Arthur, West Grey and an aerial truck from Minto to help battle the blaze. One unit in the building was completely destroyed and the rest of the building has smoke damage. Fire Chief Dave Guilbault had 35 fire fighters on scene at one point this morning and estimates the damage to be approximately $100k. West Grey Fire department was asked to cover another call to a single vehicle accident on Highway 6 just south of Mount Forest at the same time. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to perform a joint investigation with Wellington North Fire Services and the OPP Crime Investigation Unit.
