Deer & Motorcycle Collide

GREY HIGHLANDS – Two people were injured after a motorcycle collided with a deer on Grey Road 12, just south of Grey Road 30 in Grey Highlands.

The driver, a 47 year old Chatsworth man, had to be transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries Saturday night.

His passenger, a 47 year old woman from Owen Sound only sustained minor injuries.

Deer collisions are not uncommon, so OPP have some tips to make sure it doesn’t happen to you.

– Be extra cautious during dusk and dawn and when driving in areas with large deer populations.

– Make sure you have your high beams on whenever there is no oncoming traffic.

– If you notice a deer in your path, brake firmly but stay in your lane. Serious collisions happen when drivers swerve to avoid the animal.
