WELLINGTON COUNTY – Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington is partnering up with Wellington OPP to offer the Cottager Card.
Boat owners can record their serial numbers and model numbers on the card, so that information is readily available in the event of the theft.
Program Coordinator Sarah Bowers-Peter says they’re encouraging cottage owners to report the crimes they witness.
“The fact is that cottages are targeted since they can be vacant for long periods of time. There’s also the concern of fellow cottagers creating dangerous situations by not following safe boating practices. CSGW can take this information, forward it to Wellington County OPP’s Marine Unit and the Tipster is completely anonymous, and their information is confidential.”
The cards showcase the Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington logo alongside their phone number and website.
