The MPP for Perth Wellington is ready to embrace Ford Nation.
Randy Pettapiece issued a statement on Monday congratulating Ford for winning the leadership race.
“Over the weekend, we learned that PC members elected Doug Ford as the new Leader of our party. I accept the result, and would like to congratulate Doug and the other candidates – Christine Elliott, Caroline Mulroney, and Tanya Granic Allen – on a hard-fought campaign.”
Pettapiece says the party is united and ready to take on the Liberals this Spring.
“With our new Leader in place, we must now turn our attention to a single, necessary goal: replacing Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals on June 7th. Ontario urgently needs to get rid of the self-serving Liberal government. I am fully confident that, with Doug Ford at the helm, we can bring much-needed change to Ontario. We will work tirelessly to make life more affordable for Ontario families; restore accountability and respect for taxpayers; and put the interests of hardworking Ontarians first.”
Pettapiece says he is also happy to hear the Elliott will remain in politics.
“I’m especially pleased to hear that Christine Elliott will run as a PC candidate in the upcoming campaign. Christine has exactly the mix of experience and talent that a new PC government will need. As MPP for Perth-Wellington, I will continue to work for the interests and values of the people of Perth-Wellington. This will remain my top priority.”
