Man Air Lifted To Trauma Centre After Fall Into Elora Gorge

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Three males have received trespassing tickets for accessing the Elora Gorge Conservation Area.  Making matters far worse, an 18 year old from Grand Valley who was hanging from a truss bridge, lost his grip and fell 40 feet to an ice shelf below, barely avoiding the rushing water of the Grand River.
Wellington OPP got called out around 6:00 p.m. yesterday to Middlebrook Road in Elora.  OPP as well as Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service responded.
CWFD extricated him into paramedics care and he was air lifted to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.
