Local Police Had A Busy Weekend

MOUNT FOREST – A 19 year old man from Windsor has been arrested in Mount Forest after trying to avoid a RIDE check.
Police say the young man tried to avoid them on Fergus street late Saturday afternoon. When they did pull over the driver, they found him to be in possession of marijuana, marijuana laced cookies and magic mushrooms.
Shaine Allen Joseph Lecot was arrested and is facing possession charges. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 27, 2018.
BENTICK TOWNSHIP – A 34 year old man from Bentick Township is facing possession charges after Police were called to a disturbance.
Officers responded to the call about a man outside a home screaming and yelling on Friday. When they arrived they found the man in possession of 100 grams of marijuana and arrested him. He was also charged with breach of probation.
AYTON – West Grey Police are investigating a break and enter in the Town of Ayton.
The house was broken into sometime over the weekend. Stolen was a Moto Cross Helmet with an orange FXR logo. The helmet is worth about $220. Anyone with information is asked to call West Grey Police at 519-369-3046 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
DURHAM – A 55 year old man from the Town of Durham is facing Criminal Harassment charges after getting in contact with one of his prior victims.
West Grey Police say the man breached one of the conditions of his parole on Saturday when he continued to contact the victim multiple times after she asked him to stop. The male was held for bail court and is set to appear at the Walkerton Courthouse to answer to the charges.
