WEST GREY – West Grey police have been busy keeping the community safe, they responded to 60 calls for service between February 9th and the 16th.
A total of seven motor vehicle collisions were reported in the past eight days. Multiple charges were laid and several people were injured.
The West Grey Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives. Police are reminding the public to be mindful of the road conditions and to drive to your abilities and the weather.
DURHAM – Police received a tip about a vehicle being damaged in the area of Garafraxa Street in Durham. After investigating the damages, police arrested Don Dufour for one count of Mischief.
Dufour was transported to the West Grey Police Detachment where he was processed and released by way of promise to appear, he will appear in the Walkerton Courthouse to answer to the charge at a later date.
WEST GREY – Officers were dispatched to major crash at the intersection of Grey 4 and Grey Road 23. Police say the crash happened February 13th.
After investigating, police revealed that a cube van had been travelling South Bound on Grey Road 23 and failed to stop at a stop sign. The cube van drove into the intersection colliding into the front of a transport truck that had been travelling Eastbound on Grey Road 4. Emergency responders were quick to the scene and closed the roadways leading to the intersection.
The driver of the transport truck was left with serious but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the cube van had minor injuries. Charges are pending as the investigation is on-going.

WEST GREY – Several items were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the Allan Park Conservation area.
When police were called out on February 8th the victim reported an undisclosed amount of cash, along with the persons identification as well as a black Moto G4 Cell phone had been taken.
The investigation remains open.
