TOWN OF MINTO – The Manager of Economic Development for the Town of Minto has earned a prestigious award from the Economic Development Council of Ontario.
Belinda Wick-Graham was presented with the Joseph Montgomery Achievement Award at the 61st annual EDCO conference last Wednesday. This award is given to a leader to celebrate their significant contribution to the economic development profession.
Town of Minto CAO, Bill White says Wick-Graham certainly earned this honour.
“We know that Belinda exemplifies this every day in Minto and the entire region, and we are lucky to have her here. Congratulations to Belinda on this amazing achievement. The whole community is very proud of Belinda and the visible accomplishments in Economic Development that she has made in Minto over the past 12 years.”
Mayor George Bridge was in attendance at the EDCO President’s dinner and was equally thrilled.
“Both myself and Council are very proud of Belinda’s accomplishments and it is amazing to see her peers recognize her for her accomplishments.”
Wick-Graham says she was honoured to even be considered for this award.
“It is an absolute honour to have been selected as the 2017 recipient of the Joseph Montgomery Economic Development Achievement Award. I would like to thank Gordon Duff and Mandy Jones for nominating me, my economic development team at the Town of Minto, my family for their continued support as well as the numerous people who took the time to submit a letter of support. I am extremely flattered that so many people felt that I was deserving of this award. To be recognized by my peers across the Province of Ontario really means a lot. I am blessed to work in a community I love with an extremely supportive Mayor, Council and staff, as well as with many wonderful community members and businesses.”
