AMARANTH TOWNSHIP – The Grand River Conservation Authority is holding a free workshop for landowners to learn more about environmental stewardship on their rural properties.
The from fish to forests workshop will focus on enhancing the natural areas on your property. It is happening on Tuesday November 7th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Amaranth Township office. Those who attend will learn how to attract wildlife, improve fish habitat and grow a forest on their property.
Topics covered will include tree planting for windbreaks and pollination corridors, water quality protection in surface and ground water and general habitat enhancement. Each participant will receive a Rural Landowner Stewardship Guide to help create an action plan for their properties.
Landowners with properties greater than five acres may be eligible for funding for tree planting projects.
