Fordwich Man Charged With Assaulting A Police Officer

HARRISTON – A Fordwich man is facing numerous charges after Wellington OPP arrested him for driving with a suspended licence.  Officers spotted a man driving a green A-T-V in Clifford at around 9am on June 6th. They say his licence was suspended at the time, so he fled from police. Ten days later they spotted that name A-T-V parked on Union Street west in Harriston.  When police confronted the man with the intent to arrest him, they say he assaulted an officer. The officer did manage to arrest him and take him into custody.
45 year old Christopher Burton has been charged with assault police officer with intent to avoid arrest contrary to the Criminal Code, driving disqualified and driving with a suspended licence.
