No injuries are being reported after a car was shot with what is believed to be a pellet gun.
Around 3 yesterday afternoon a 9-1-1 call came in from a driver on Highway 6 north of Fergus. They reported the driver of a red Honda Accord pointed a gun at them while they were passing him on Sideroad 15. The driver then shot at the vehicle, hitting the passenger side mirror and denting the door.
Officers caught up with the suspect and vehicle in downtown Fergus on St Andrews Street. During the arrest the suspect’s vehicle and cruiser collided, causing damage to both, but no injuries to the people.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
71-year-old, William Coyle Emburgh of Arthur has been charged with Pointing a Fire Arm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon
