WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County has officially opened three Level 3 electric vehicle charging stations in Arthur, Puslinch and Guelph.
They were able to do this thanks to receiving over $215,000 in Provincial funding from the Government of Ontario’s Electric Vehicle Grant Program. The grant program is in support of the Province’s Climate Change Action Plan. Level 3 charging stations use a 480-volt system that can charge your vehicle batteries up to 80% in 30 minutes.
Warden Dennis Lever says these charging stations are great news for the County.
“Investing in these charging stations has strengthened Wellington County’s sustainable infrastructure and provided more environmental options to our communities. We are very pleased to be working with the Government of Ontario on this project, and to be continuing Wellington County’s commitment to environmental initiatives.”
The new charging stations are located at the Puslinch Library, the Arthur Library Medical Centre, and the Guelph-Wellington Social Service Office. All Wellington County charging stations will be free to use until July 1.
