First Tornado of 2016 confirmed for Clifford

Environment Canada confirmed Friday that Canada’s first tornado of 2016 touched down last Wednesday afternoon approximately seven kilometres north of Clifford. Trees were snapped, and a barn was damaged by what Environment Canada says was a high-end F1 tornado. This would put winds at an estimated 170-km an hour. According to reports, March would be the earliest a tornado has been reported in Ontario. Environment Canada says the tornado measured at 200-metres wide, and ran for 3.5 kilometres.-Chris Holden
